Intermediate Digital SLR Photography starts early September 2010

In this class a digital SLR is required. We will have an in-depth discussion about exposure and development, aperture and shutter speed, ISO, depth of field, advanced camera functions, lens choices, and the advantages of shooting RAW vs. JPEG. We will talk about lighting, fill flash and how to better control your camera flash and off-camera flash. We will spend a class working with studio lighting and shooting models. Composition will be stressed and at least 1 hour of each class will be devoted to critique. There will be an opportunity of going on a field trip in leiu of one of the night classes. We will spend one class on printing and color management, and another on photo software and file management.
Requirements: A good knowledge of photography, SLR type of camera that can be set to manual operation with a detachable flash and a tripod. The ability to shoot 200 digital images and present at least 4 (5×7) prints and a thumbdrive with all your images each week, and produce 10 (10×15) finished images (printed and matted) for the class.
